American diploma in Egypt (guide) American diploma is an international high school degree that recognized nationally and internationally, certify that the student has ended his high school curriculum. In Egypt, it is an international system equivalent to ( thanwya) which guarantees that the student can enroll in colleges.

Grade Point average (GPA) represents the subject that students take in school.
Every student select the highest 8 subjects through his study in grade 11 and 12. Those subjects should be accepted by Supreme Council of Universities in Egypt.
The 8 subjects represent only 40% from the total.
Assessment tests
The assessment test ( EST) is consisting of English and Math. The score is 800 for math and 800 for English with total of 1600.
The assessment test represent 60% for those who scored below 1090/1600.
For those who scored above 1090/1600, the assessment test represents 69%.
EST 2
Another assessment test for those who wants to join practical college, such as faculty of engineering or any medical college. EST 2 consists of two subjects test, which is math and physics or biology as common. EST two represents additional 15%.
So we have 40% GPA,69% EST, and 15%EST2 ( for those who scored above 1090).
